Psalm 64
1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
1 Hear my voice, O | 3 God, in my | prayer; ||
preserve my | life from | fear • of the | ene•my. ||
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
2 Hide me from the gathering to- | gether • of the | froward, ||
and from the insur- | 3 rection of | wicked | doers; ||
3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
3 Who have whet their | tongue • like a | sword, ||
and shoot out their | arrows, • even | bitter | words; ||
4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
4 That they may privily shoot at | 3 him that is | perfect: ||
suddenly | do they | 3 hit him, and | fear not. ||
5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
5 They encourage them- | selves in | mischief, ||
and commune among themselves, how they may lay snares; * and | say, that | 3 no man shall | see them. ||
6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
6 They imagine | wicked•ness, and | practise • it; ||
that they keep secret among themselves, * | every • man in the | 3 deep of his | heart. ||
7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
7 But God shall suddenly shoot at them with a swift arrow, that 3 they | shall be | wounded. ||
8 Yea, their own tongues shall make them fall; * insomuch that whoso | seeth • them shall | laugh • them to | scorn. ||
8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
9 And all men that see it shall say, | This hath | God done; ||
for they shall per- | ceive • that it | is his | work. ||
10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
10 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and | put his | trust in • him; ||
and all they that are | true of | heart • shall be | glad. ||
