Psalm 34
1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
1 I will alway give | thanks un•to the | Lord; ||
his praise shall | 3 ever be | in my | mouth. ||
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
2 My soul shall make her | boast • in the | Lord; ||
the humble shall | hear there- | of, • and be | glad. ||
3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
3 O praise the | Lord with | me, ||
and let us | magni•fy his | Name to- | gether. ||
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
4 I sought the | 3 Lord, and he | heard me; ||
yea, he de- | livered me • out of | all my | fear. ||
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
5 They had an eye unto | him, • and were | lightened; ||
and their | 3 faces were | not a- | shamed. ||
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
6 Lo, the poor crieth, and the Lord heareth him; * yea, and saveth him out of | all his | troubles. ||
7 The angel of the Lord tarrieth round about them that | fear him, | and de- | livereth • them. ||
7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
8 O taste, and see, how | 3 gracious the | Lord is: ||
blessed is the | man that | 3 trusteth in | him. ||
9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
9 O fear the Lord, | ye that • are his | saints; ||
for | they that • fear | him lack | nothing. ||
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
10 The lions do | lack, and • suffer | hunger; ||
but they who seek the Lord shall want no | 3 manner of | thing • that is | good. ||
11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
11 Come, ye children, and | hearken • unto | me; ||
I will | teach • you the | fear • of the | Lord. ||
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
12 What man is he that | 3 lusteth to | live, ||
and would | fain | see good | days? ||
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips, that they | speak no | guile. ||
14 Eschew evil, and do | good; * seek | peace, • and en- | sue it. ||
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
15 The eyes of the Lord are | 3 over the | righteous, ||
and his ears are | open | 3 unto their | prayers. ||
16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
16 The countenance of the Lord is against 3 them | that do | evil, ||
to root out the re- | membrance • of them | from the | earth. ||
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
17 The righteous | cry, and the • Lord | heareth • them, ||
and de- | livereth them • out of | all their | troubles. ||
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a | contrite | heart, ||
and will save such as 3 be | of an | humble | spirit. ||
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
19 Great are the | troubles • of the | righteous; ||
but the Lord de- | livereth • him | out of | all. ||
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
20 He keepeth | all his | bones, ||
so that not | one of | them is | broken. ||
21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
21 But misfortune shall | slay • the un- | godly; ||
and they that hate the | righteous | shall be | deso•late. ||
22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
22 The Lord delivereth the | 3 souls of his | servants; ||
and all they that put their trust in | him shall | not be | desti•tute. ||
