Psalm 147
1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
1 O praise the Lord, * for it is a good thing to sing praises | 3 unto our | God; ||
yea, a joyful and pleasant | thing it | is • to be | thankful. ||
2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
2 The Lord doth 3 build | up Je- | rusa•lem, ||
and gather to- | 3 gether the | 3 outcasts of | Isra•el. ||
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
3 He healeth those that are | 3 broken in | heart, ||
and giveth | 3 medicine to | heal their | sickness. ||
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
4 He telleth the | number • of the | stars, ||
and | 3 calleth them | all • by their | names. ||
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
5 Great is our Lord, and | great • is his | power; ||
3 yea, | and his | 3 wisdom is | infin•ite. ||
6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
6 The Lord 3 setteth | up the | meek, ||
and bringeth the un- | godly | down • to the | ground. ||
7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
7 O sing unto the | Lord with | thanks•giving; ||
sing | praises up•on the | harp un•to our | God: ||
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
8 Who covereth the | heaven • with | clouds, ||
and pre- | pareth | rain • for the | earth; ||
and maketh the grass to | grow up•on the | mountains, ||
and | herb • for the | use of | men; ||
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
9 Who giveth fodder | 3 unto the | cattle, ||
and | feedeth the • young | 3 ravens that | call up•on him. ||
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
10 He hath no pleasure in the | strength • of an | horse; ||
neither de- | lighteth • he in | any • man's | legs. ||
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
11 But the Lord's delight is in | them that | fear him, ||
and | put their | trust • in his | mercy. ||
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; * praise thy | God, O | Sion. ||
13 For he hath made fast the bars of thy gates, * and hath | blessed thy | 3 children with- | in thee. ||
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
14 He maketh | 3 peace in thy | borders, ||
and | filleth thee • with the | flour of | wheat. ||
15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
15 He sendeth forth his com- | mandment up•on | earth, ||
and his | word | runneth • very | swiftly. ||
16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
16 He giveth snow like wool, and scattereth the | 3 hoarfrost like | ashes. ||
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: * who is | able • to a- | bide his | frost? ||
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18 He sendeth out his | word, and | melteth • them: ||
he bloweth with his | wind, • and the | waters | flow. ||
19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
19 He showeth his | word • unto | Jacob, ||
his statutes and | ordi•nances | unto | Isra•el. ||
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.
20 He hath not dealt | so with • any | nation; ||
neither have the | heathen | knowledge • of his | laws. ||
