Psalm 36
1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
1 My heart showeth me the | wickedness • of the un- | godly, ||
that there is no | fear of | God be•fore his | eyes. ||
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
2 For he flattereth him- | self • in his | own sight, ||
until his a- | bomin•able | sin be • found | out. ||
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
3 The words of his mouth are unrighteous and | 3 full of de- | ceit: ||
he hath left off to behave himself | wisely, | and to • do | good. ||
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
4 He imagineth mischief upon his bed, and hath set himself in | no good | way; ||
neither doth he abhor | any • thing | that is | evil. ||
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, reacheth | 3 unto the | heavens, ||
and thy | faithful•ness | 3 unto the | clouds. ||
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
6 Thy righteousness standeth | like the • strong | mountains: ||
thy | 3 judgments are | like the • great | deep. ||
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
7 Thou, Lord, shalt save both man and beast: * how excellent is thy | mercy, • O | God! ||
and the children of men shall put their | trust • under the | shadow • of thy | wings. ||
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
8 They shall be satisfied with the | plenteousness • of thy | house; ||
and thou shalt give them drink of thy | pleasures, • as | 3 out of the | river. ||
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
9 For with thee is the | well of | life; ||
and in | 3 thy light shall | we see | light. ||
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
10 O continue forth thy loving-kindness unto | them that | know thee, ||
and thy righteousness unto | 3 them that are | true of | heart. ||
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
11 O let not the foot of | pride • come a- | gainst me; ||
and let not the | hand • of the un- | godly • cast me | down. ||
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
12 There are they fallen, | all that • work | wicked•ness; ||
they are cast down, and shall | not be | 3 able to | stand. ||
