Psalm 32
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
1 Blessed is he whose unrighteousness is forgiven, * and whose | sin is | covered. ||
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth no sin, * and in whose | spirit • there | is no | guile. ||
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
3 For whilst I | held my | tongue, ||
my bones consumed a- | way • through my | 3 daily com- | plaining. ||
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
4 For thy hand was heavy upon me | day and | night, ||
and my | moisture was • like the | drought in | summer. ||
5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee; * and mine unrighteousness 3 have | I not | hid. ||
6 I said, I will confess my sins unto the Lord; * and so thou for- | 3 gavest the | wickedness • of my | sin. ||
6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
7 For this shall every one that is godly make his prayer unto thee, * in a time when thou | 3 mayest be | found; ||
surely the great | water-floods • shall | not come | nigh him. ||
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
8 Thou art a place to hide me in; thou shalt pre- | serve • me from | trouble; ||
thou shalt compass me a- | bout with | songs • of de- | liver•ance. ||
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
9 I will inform thee, and teach thee in the way where- | in • thou shalt | go; ||
and I will | guide thee | with mine | eye. ||
10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
10 Be ye not like to horse and mule, which have | no • under- | standing; ||
whose mouths must be held with bit and | bridle, • else they | will • not o- | bey thee. ||
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
11 Great plagues re- | main • for the un- | godly; ||
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord, mercy em- | braceth • him on | ever•y | side. ||
12 Be glad, O ye righteous, and re- | joice • in the | Lord; ||
and be joyful, all | ye • that are | true of | heart. ||
