Psalm 112

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
1 Blessed is the man that | 3 feareth the | Lord; ||
he hath great de- | light in | his com- | mandments. ||
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
2 His seed shall be | mighty up•on | earth; ||
the generation of the | faithful | shall be | blessed. ||
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
3 Riches and plenteousness shall 3 be | in his | house; ||
and his | righteous•ness en- | 3 dureth for | ever. ||
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
4 Unto the godly there ariseth up | light • in the | darkness; ||
he is | 3 merciful, | loving, • and | righteous. ||
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
5 A good man is | merci•ful, and | lendeth; ||
and will | guide his | words • with dis- | cretion. ||
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
6 For he shall | 3 never be | moved: ||
and the righteous shall be | had in • ever- | 3 lasting re- | membrance. ||
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
7 He will not be afraid of any | evil | tidings; ||
for his heart standeth | fast, • and be- | lieveth • in the | Lord. ||
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
8 His heart is stablished, and | will not | shrink, ||
until he | see • his de- | sire up•on his | ene•mies. ||
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
9 He hath dispersed abroad, and | given • to the | poor, ||
and his righteousness remaineth for ever; * his | horn shall • be ex- | 3 alted with | honour. ||
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
10 The ungodly shall see it, 3 and | it shall | grieve him; ||
he shall gnash with his teeth, and consume away; * the de- | sire of • the un- | 3 godly shall | perish. ||

About the Pointing

The text of the Coverdale Psalter follows the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer. The pointing, suitably adapted, is taken from Charles Macpherson, Edward C. Bairstow, and Percy C. Buck, The English Psalter (Novello & Co., 1925).
